???? Which Social Media Platform Is Right For A Business?

In 2005, 5% of adults were on social media, in 2019 it is 72%, according to Pew Research.

Not only did the usage grow, but so did the number of platforms, Pew tracks eight to nine social media networks.

With many platforms to chose, it can be confusing.

We recommend picking a primary and a secondary platform so that you don’t put all your eggs in one basket. And to hedge your bet on what we call “Social Media du jour”, the changing landscape of social media.

There is one platform that is a must for your business, especially if you are B2B – LinkedIn. One reason is that 62% of companies use LinkedIn, and 86% of B2B companies use the platform.

Another reason is that over 78 percent of LinkedIn users have incomes over $75,000.

There are secondary platforms to consider too – age, gender are two criteria we use.

The best rule of thumb is that if you know the demographics of your target audience, then picking the best digital platform is much simpler.

You choose the network that has users that closely match your users.

For B2B audiences, here are three options to consider for the secondary social network:
YouTube – 94% of LinkedIn users access this network
Facebook – 90% of LinkedIn users access this network
Instagram – 57% of LinkedIn users access this network

Please see this source for more details on demographics.
